14 October 2025 NEWS

Just announced: Every big name in Comics from YouTube to Hollywood to musical theater to books – everyone is coming to Lucca Comics and Games 2025 French Kiss (LC&G).  No one will be left out – especially not the kids – organizers announced today, 14 October 2025.

Kids are Lucca Comics and Games’ “secret weapon” according to Emanuele Vietina, Festival director and general director of Lucca Crea, the City of Lucca corporation in charge of what’s become the largest and most important cross-media festival in Europe.

Being young, Lucca Juniors will experience and deliver this year’s message that: “LC&G is a celebration of HAPPINESS.  A place where ‘the island that isn’t there’ actually becomes reality for adults and children alike,” according to Vietina.

Students from the 4th and 5th grades at Lucchese elementary schools Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Pascoli, and the English Primary School, attended a special presentation today, 14 October 2025, at the Giglio Giacomo Puccini Theatre in downtown Lucca. Seated on pillows in the lobby, they listened excitedly to  all the LC&G offerings just for Juniors from 29 October to 2 November 2025.

As official “Junior journalists” they met and interviewed YouTuber Tonia Lupo (far left), creator of Glitter & Candy, Charlie Brown (far right) from the Peanuts musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and organizers about their inspiration for including Geronimo Stilton, mouse on left, created by Elisabetta Dami, and Pera Toons. The Junior journalists screamed loudly for Roby Polar Bear, and the inventor of Winxx, Iginio Straffi, as well as for an interactive booth will feature Diary of a Fumbler.

Making the students official LC&G news carriers, Vietina hopes more students will be intrigued by the free events, workshops and interactions offered this year which feature their fave action heroes and illustrators.

The Real Collegio in Lucca will become the Family Palace, open to all for free.  Children under 10 years old (born after 1 January 2016) can as always also enter all the pavilions for free if they are accompanied by an adult with a festival ticket and bracelet (or series subscription).

LibroGame books, in which the reader becomes the protagonist and determines the plotline, celebrates its 40th year at Comics this year with a special Topolino (Mickey Mouse) edition.

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown opens 2 November at the Giglio in a tribute to the 75th anniversary of the Peanuts series.  Directed and choreographed by Eugenio Contenti, its cast includes major stars of the Italian musical stage.  If a child attends Lucca Junior three times, his or her parents can receive a special discount offered by the Giglio to see the musical. Fifty per cent of the tickets also will be reserved for Lucca provincial residents.

Emanuele Vietina expresses his hope that kids will help determine the content of future Lucca Comics & Games.
