Mayor of Lucca Mario Pardini attended the official preview of I LOVE LUCCA COMICS & GAMES at the Rome Film Festival yesterday evening. The film, dedicated to the largest community event in the world, will be released in Italian theaters from November 10 to 12, 2025.
I LOVE LUCCA COMICS & GAMES is the first film to explore the festival from the inside, “conveying through the power of cinema a prismatic image of a unique reality in the international cultural landscape,” according to its producer All At Once, a production partner of I Wonder Pictures, in collaboration with Lucca Crea, the company organizing the Festival.
The work is the brainchild of Andrea Romeo and Manlio Castagna, who also directed and wrote the screenplay, together with Giulia Giapponesi and Alessandro Diele, with editorial supervision by Anita Rivaroli.
The film’s closing credits are accompanied by the previously unreleased song “Lucca Around,” written by Frankie hi-nrg mc and performed by Lillo Petrolo.
With more than 300 thousand visitors every year, over 900 guests and 600 exhibitors, Lucca Comics & Games is one of the largest pop culture events in the world. But its leaders want it to be much more: they want it to be a transformative experience, a meeting point capable of bringing thousands of people together to experience joy and creativity.
Through the voices of authors, publishers, and prestigious guests—including director Gabriele Mainetti, best-selling authors R.L. Stine and Licia Troisi, rapper Frankie hi-nrg mc, cartoonists Pera Toons, Sio, Fumettibrutti, Yoshitaka Amano, and Roberto Recchioni—and through meetings with some of the visitors who experience Lucca as a second home every year, director Manlio Castagna discusses the community, values, and experience of this unique event.
Each story, personal and intimate, describes a world of welcome and kindness, a community united by the same passions and the desire to be together and be happy.
